This one-of-a-kind print captures the doors of immigrant housing in La Boca, Buenos Aires, where newcomers arriving by boat were first welcomed. Taken during the artist’s journey tracing her maternal grandmother’s 1920s path from Rovno, it evokes the stories of arrival, transition, and new beginnings.
Shaari Neretin is a long time Nehar Shalom member, an artist, and psychotherapist based in Boston, originally from New York City. Forever a wanderer, she experiences the world as an engaged participant observer. Her work often reflects both being a part of and being separate from the dominant cultures.
