Membership at Nehar Shalom
Being a member of Nehar Shalom is an opportunity to co-create our community. Whether through participating in services, family programs, or learning, giving or receiving a meal or other kinds of support, sharing your celebrations and losses, or joining others in both joy and sorrow, your presence in our community matters. As our congregation continues to grow and change, members play an important role in making decisions about who we are and how we do things. Becoming a member affirms your commitment to building Nehar Shalom’s future and ensuring our community will continue to thrive.

Resourcing Our Community
​
Membership dues are our primary source of funding - they make everything we do possible and are essential to our continued vitality and growth. Every contribution plays a vital role in sustaining and strengthening our community. We can meet our goals for fiscal year 2026 if each of our 175 adult members contributes an average of $825 in dues.
We ask each member household to make an annual or monthly contribution in order to help sustain and grow our inclusive, multi-generational community. As a community rooted in belonging and diversity across class and background, we are proud to offer a range of suggested giving levels. We ask that you consider a pledge that honors both your financial reality and the shared commitment that keeps Nehar Shalom sustainable, vibrant, and thriving for all of us.

Full access and participation regardless of financial means have always been core to our community. We will never turn anyone away for lack of means to contribute financially and encourage you to contribute an amount that is meaningful and sustainable for you

​
If every adult member contributed at this level it would allow us to fully meet our budgetary needs without separate fundraising. Giving at this level also helps support the participating share model.

Sustaining Share
​
This level will allow us to meet our needs in conjunction with other fundraising efforts and is the average we need across all households

Strengthening Share
​
Our sliding scale dues model only works through the generosity of those who have more to give. Giving at this level helps ensure the sustainability of our community for all members and strengthen it for years to come.

Due to the cost of processing donations, we suggest a minimum transaction of $10.

Membership renewal takes place in June and July to align with our fiscal year. If you're joining at another time of year, we encourage you to make a full-year pledge if you're able. However, prorated dues are also welcome - please select an amount that reflects the remaining portion of the year. This way, you'll be aligned with our regular June/July renewal cycle moving forward.
